Hey Florida parents! We're the Wild Florida Family

Hello friends! My name is Jen, and my husband and I are training up our two precious kiddos to love and appreciate all things wild and free in natural Florida.  We invite you to come along with us as we explore, learn, and teach our family and friends about all there is to love about the wild side of Florida.

We'd love to show you how to get your family into the wild also.

In this blog, we'll talk about the things that may be keeping you from taking the plunge, and give you ideas on how to get the absolute most out of your adventures for your kids, and yourselves. You don’t need to be intimidated anymore.

From our crystal clear spring waters to our magical underground caverns, to our winding rivers and our world class beaches, Florida’s wild and natural spaces are the states most valuable treasures, and your family should be experiencing the magic of them together. The most common thing we hear when we talk about our adventures in wild Florida is “Wow!! I had no idea that was here!” The second most common thing is, “Man, I wish I could get my family out to see that stuff but I have no clue where to start.” Well folks, this blog is for you. We are passionate about Florida. We are passionate about encouraging families to spend time together in the outdoors.  A great place to start is with Florida State Parks... all 175 of them.  That's what we're doing!

"...deep down, kids want to explore, they want to find adventure and learn new things. Do any of us every really grow out of that?"

It’s important to know what fun, exciting trips are within driving distance for a single day or a short weekend. You’ll soon find that trips into Florida’s wild spaces will be less expensive and more fulfilling than trips to the most popular theme parks. Don’t get me wrong, we appreciate the role our tourist hotspots play in the economy of this great state, but deep down, kids want to explore, they want to find adventure and learn new things. Do any of us every really grow out of that? Plus, as Florida residents and visitors we have a responsibility to foster a love for Florida that encourages a deep respect and desire for protecting and prolonging the beautiful wild spaces and unique animals and ecosystems they support. If you teach your children to love the natural world wild they’re young, they’ll be more inclined to protect it as adults.  And in this way, we'll work together to ensure that these amazing experiences we get to enjoy now will be available for future generations.

We hope you'll enjoy reading about our adventures, but we hope even more to inspire you to get out and chase after your own.  We have but one life to live, and its up to us to make sure we enjoy the journey.  Until next time, happy adventuring from the Wild Florida Family.
